Clear mind. Open heart.
Irma Guerrero-Ali, LMFTS, in Houston, TX
“Clear and Safe Path.”
This is the actual phrase I say to myself every time I NEed Extra Courage.
It’s ok to be afraid sometimes. It’s not ok to let your thoughts make you afraid. Whether it’s the loss of a relationship and you need to learn to be with yourself, a new challenge in work, or a new life experience, a change, a transition, you keep trying to move forward, but worry thoughts and stress make it feel like a sweat inducing, heart wrenching, constant uphill battle. Or maybe you’re so tired and worn out you know longer trust your path is clear nor safe.
But you know it hasn’t always been like this. There’s been many good times throughout your life, it just feels like you too are having to remind yourself, “it’s going to be ok”. Let’s take matters into your own hands and create that clear and safe path. I drive a therapeutic bulldozer with fistful of flowering seeds ready for planting. Your beautiful life is waiting for you on the other side.
If you are ready to bloom, you’re in the right spot!
Hi, I’m Irma.
A gentle hearted, confident, strategic and therefore, can make shit happen, type Licensed Marriage and Family therapist.
Like, you, I know what it’s like to face challenges in life. It can be hard to talk about this kind of pain. No one wants to hear it really, or so you think. You don’t want to be a burden, and will anyone really understand your very personal experience? Often time it does feel easier to suck it up buttercup and change the subject to something with more fluff. Keeping it all inside, all the time, all to yourself, it can become too much to bear.
And you DO NOT have to carry it all on your own.
If you are ready to release the pressure cooker of life and step into a lighter longer simmer who's worth the patience and time. Hello and welcome, step into my kitchen. I don’t cook, but I do know how to savor a meal, with thoughtful conversation and focused leisure time.
I find my greatest inspiration during those lightbulb moments in session, when no validation is necessary. You are doing the work! You realized you shine as brightly as the sun from the inside out. The loneliness that was once felt is now met with the person that was meant to mean the most; YOU.
‘Truth & courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weakness.’
Brene Brown
in therapy with me…
We’ll dig deep.
Think of this as a hike. At first it’s leisurely and easy. Midway, you might begin to feel some discomfort, burning in your legs, maybe begin to sweat or have more physical sensation. Towards the end, we continue to push through the hard parts, but we can see we are almost there. Upon completing the hike, you feel accomplished, and somehow you feel recharged.
You’re in charge.
That said, I do both gently push and sometimes I shove you to get there. Mostly, you have all the space and attentiveness you need to process your thoughts and feelings. Together we create a space where you feel comfortable and your goals and needs are addressed.
I’ll cheer you on.
Although I was never a cheerleader physically, I have always been an encouraging motivator. I help you feel like the possibilities are endless…and they are. You are whole, perfect and complete.
